"The Ngamaia Farms Journey"

Welcome to the Far North! 

My name is Allen Tubbs, husband to Hayley and father to our four sons Jake, Hawke, Zinzan, and Cash - these boys being the 7th generation in the North.

I milked cows on the family farm in Kerikeri and also played rugby for Northland - starting quality friendships in the Far North. In 2002 Hayley and I married, started a family, and purchased our beef farm "Ngamaia Farms".

Ngamaia Farms is surrounded by beautiful bush with cascading waterfalls flowing through the property. Areas of native bush along with 6kms of waterways were fenced off to improve both the flora and fauna and preserve water quality, which have all added to its beauty.

We continued milking cows for a further 11 years before finally being rewarded in 2014 with moving to our home at Ngamaia Farms. We started our Apiary around this time and steadily grew to our current sustainable size.

Hayley has been heavily involved with many community and sporting organizations, and these days can be found on the sideline at a school hockey game, supporting waka ama, and helping coach/manage Cash's rugby team. In between farming/beekeeping I help out at the local rugby club and muster wild cattle all over Northland.

The Far North has been a great place to raise our sons. They have gained a unique set of skills taught by a group of helpful people. The boys along with various friends can be found keeping the feral pig population on the farm in check, fishing, playing sport, or with the family traveling the North with our horses and dogs mustering wild cattle.

Our connection to the people and the land has overwhelmingly helped us to produce top-quality honey and manage a successful Apiary.
